Eric Litman
Eric Litman is a principal scientist at NewFields Environmental Forensics. Eric has 20 years of experience in the field of environmental science, with a specialization in applied environmental chemistry. During this time, he has conducted a variety of environmental site investigations focused on the chemical characterization of petroleum hydrocarbons, fuel distillates, coal tar, PCBs, dioxins, heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, and poly fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). He consults on contaminated sediment investigations with a focus on forensic chemistry, data quality and usability, and designing cost allocation models. Eric has worked in a variety of laboratory settings as both an analytical chemist specializing in hydrocarbon chemistry and as a laboratory manager. His research interests include the history of industrial chemistry, and the development of novel laboratory methods to measure emerging contaminants. Mr. Litman also serves as a trainer for ASTM International with a focus on developing guidance documents and training materials related to contaminated sediment investigations.
