ABSTRACT
There exist many requirements for laboratories that are designed to improve the reliability of the generated data, but almost none for sample collection. The errors in laboratory results can be overwhelmed by errors in the sampling process. To address this issue, The NELAC Institute (TNI) has an accreditations standard for field activities that was revised in 2024. This presentation will show some examples of faulty data generated due to poor sample collection efforts and how the TNI standard would have prevented the occurrences of these results.
