Author: Larry Zintek is a chemist at the Chicago Regional Laboratory in EPA Region 5. He has a BS in Biochemistry from Illinois Benedictine College and a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Iowa. His 22 years of experience at the EPA includes chemical analytical method development for emerging contaminants of concern such as endocrine disrupting compounds for the Office of Water and chemical threat agents for the National Homeland Security Research Center and Water Security Division. A working relationship is maintained with the Office of Water, Office of Emergency Management and ORD labs in method development and environmental projects and studies. Presently the US EPA Chicago Regional Laboratory has 21 approved ASTM Standards.
Presenter: William Lipps has over 37 years of experience in laboratory analysis and management, product development, product marketing, and method optimization, development and validation. William is the current chair of ASTM D19 or Water, a member at large for ASTM D34, a member of the Standard Methods Joint Editorial Board, and an expert and voting representative for ANSI to ISO TC147 on Water SC2 chemistry.
