Ellen R Campbell

Ellen R Campbell and husband Prof WH (Bill) Campbell founded NECi in 1993. Bill didn't make it through Covid-time, so Ellen is now running the show as CEO and President. NECi develops and produces recombinant enzymes for analytical chemistry. As we develop new enzymes, we move on to development of new methods for a variety of skill levels and equipment types. NECi's nitrate reductase enzyme earned Standard Method status for measurement of nitrate in water with the EPA, USGS, ASTM, and standardmethods.org. Product development has been funded over the years from EPA. NIH, USDA, and NSF via their Small Business Innovation Research programs. Ellen has a BSc from SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry, and worked at the Dept of Pharmacology of the SUNY Upstate Medical Center as an HPLC methods development chemist prior to moving to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 1985.
