Ruth Marfil-Vega
Presenter: Dr. Ruth Marfil-Vega has 20 years of expertise in environmental chemistry and engineering in the US and Europe. She has worked with the EPA and the utilities industry to design and execute comprehensive solutions for addressing new environmental and water quality issues. Ruth continues working with environmental stakeholders since she joined Shimadzu four years ago to make sure that analytical instrumentation and workflows support their success. She graduated from the University of Valladolid (Spain) with a BSc in Chemistry, and from the University of Cincinnati with PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering.

Author: Dr. Ethan Hain collaborated with the EPA and Maryland Department of Natural Resources for his thesis on the occurrence, source, and toxicity of contaminants of emerging concern in the Chesapeake Bay. Ethan has worked on a variety of projects and applications as an LCMS Product Specialist at SSI, including EPA methods 533, 537.1, and 1633. He obtained his B.A. of Biochemistry at Saint Mary’s College of Maryland and his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the University of Maryland Baltimore County
