ABSTRACT

Microbiology group testing, total coliforms, fecal coliforms (heat-resistant), and Escherichia coli (E. coli) are well-known analytical methods for monitoring contamination of surface water, groundwater, and domestic and industrial wastewater. However, due to its peculiarity to ordinary analytical testing, nearly all microbiology laboratories continue to use inefficient and rudimentary manual recording operations throughout the testing lifecycle, from sample preparation to result readback, and its process data is never integrated into the modern LIMS. The good news is that Micro ELNĀ©, a software designed to automate microbial analysis data, has been developed recently. Its complete visual process design is very intuitive and easy to operate. The system is currently live in the CCWRD laboratory and integrates seamlessly with the existing LIMS.
