John Bachmann
John Bachmann is principal of Vision Air Consulting, LLC. In 2007, he retired after 33 years with EPA’s Air Programs, as the Associate Director for Science Policy and New Programs for EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards in Research Triangle Park, NC. He has substantial experience in development and assessment of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), and innovative approaches for implementing clean air programs. On retiring, he produced a Critical Review of the history of US Air Quality Management. He’s done work for EPA and others multiple topics, including air pollution and climate. He is currently leading the EPA Alumni Association Half Century of Progress project, aimed at High School and introductory college environmental science students. He has a BS in Chemistry, an MAT in teaching chemistry and a masters in Environmental Health Engineering (air pollution major) from the University of Notre Dame.
