Scott Coffin
Scott Coffin completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology under the direction of Professor Daniel Schlenk in 2018 at the University of California, Riverside, focusing on endocrine-disrupting compounds, analytical chemistry, bioanalytical screening tools, aquatic ecology, and toxicological effects associated with plastics. Scott joined the State Water Board in January, 2019 and works as a Research Scientist III in the Division of Drinking Water’s Regulatory Development Unit, serving as the technical lead on the State’s efforts regarding microplastics in drinking water. Scott also conducts research and assists on drafting regulations on PFAS and other emerging contaminants in drinking water.
