ABSTRACT
We are developing a biosensor that uses engineered bacterial to detect a suite of contaminants in water, including arsenic, cadmium, lead, nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, and phosphate. Our sensor can run autonomously for over a month and provides continuous readouts of the concentrations of each contaminant. We have the ability to engineer new strains for other contaminants of interest, and our sensor can hold up to 100 different sensor strains. The customizability of our platform along with the continuous readout makes our sensor highly unique.
