ABSTRACT

This presentation will review and describe how water microbiology testing has evolved over the years and it's impact on improving public health. The presentation will discuss early detection methods for microbes in water and move to current and future testing methods and opportunities. The establishment of the US EPA, the Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water Acts will also be covered as will the EPA Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule, which drives continued safe water and improved public health.
