Enoma Omoregie
Dr. Omoregie is an environmental microbiologist. He obtained his BS in biochemistry and biophysics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, his MS in marine sciences at the University of Californian, Santa Cruz and his Ph.D. in marine microbiology through a joint program at Jacobs University, Bremen and the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology. He is the Chief of Environmental Services at the NYC Public Health Laboratory, where he oversees the laboratory’s molecular subtyping unit, which is responsible for characterizing microbes involved in foodborne and environmental outbreaks; and its water testing unit, which supports the city’s potable water and beach monitoring programs. He is a former two-time Marie Curie fellowship awardee at The University of Manchester and the Center for Astrobiology.
