David Schiessel
David Schiessel has been the Senior Chemist in the organics department at Babcock Laboratories in Riverside, CA since December 2011 and has been working as an analytical chemist in environmental laboratories since 2002. He has spent a considerable amount of time optimizing and developing analytical methods for organics analyses. He is proficient in routine instrumental analysis of water, soil, and air using GC, LC, and tandem mass spectrometry. He is currently Babcock Laboratories' primary chemist responsible for bringing the UCMR4 organics methods online for certification. He performs all of the routine analysis for emerging contaminants, PFC’s pyrethroids, carbamates, and hormones. He has a passion for using analytical instrumentation to solve new environmental challenges and to develop analytical methods that meet data quality objectives for the clients of Babcock Laboratories. He attended California State Poly, Pomona studying chemistry.
