Brahm Prakash
Mr. Prakash earned his M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Oklahoma in 1984, and M.S. and M.Tech in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology New Delhi, is a Applications Scientist with Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. Columbia, Maryland supporting and conducting environmental analysis and method development with a strong emphasis in GC/MS and GC/MS/MS. Prior to joining Shimadzu, since 1994, he had been associated and worked on numerous on-site contracts for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which provided support to the Agency’s Superfund, ground water, surface water & and Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water (OGWDW) programs. While at EPA Mr. Prakash had developed/co-authored five (5) EPA methods for emerging contaminants, and had published and co-authored several technical journal related articles. For EPA’s Office of Research and Development division he was the project leader for “Hydrofracking” work assignment.
Along with his published works Mr. Prakash has also given several talks and presentations at national conferences in the area of analytical methods such as AWWA Water Quality Technical Conference (WQTC) and National Environmental Monitoring Conferences (NEMC). Mr. Prakash also severed as session Chair Person for an International Conference on “PREVENTING EMERGING OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS IN SOUTH ASIA AND BEYOND” 16 – 19 December 2009, Organized by Center for Occupational & Environmental Health Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, INDIA
