Anne Bowser
Dr. Anne Bowser is a Senior Program Associate with the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, where she seeks to facilitate public participation in science, technology, and policy.
Anne received her PhD from the University of Maryland's iSchool. Through her dissertation fieldwork she explored how Floracaching, a gamified mobile application for biodiversity data collection, could be designed to motivate contributions from new citizen science volunteers.
In addition to her research, Anne builds capacity for citizen science through community building. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Citizen Science Association (CSA), and supports the work of the Federal Community of Practice for Crowdsourcing and Citizen Science.
