ABSTRACT
Abstract for Presentation – Five key trends impacting the LIMS industry
Speaker: David Riese, Director of U.S. Sales, Promium
A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is the backbone of the laboratory information infrastructure and five key trends are expanding that role. Mr. Riese will discuss the five trends and explore the implications with the audience. The trends include solution hosting, mobile technology, online sample submission, client portals, and making analytical results more accessible.
These trends are driven by technology and economics and they impact the delivery of software, the management of samples, communication of project information, and the analysis of data. The end results creates a much more interconnected LIMS ecosystem and ultimately produce more efficient laboratory operations and a stronger direct connection between laboratories and their clients. The presentation will also include discussion of the urgency of each trend and the relative relief or anxiety felt by laboratories as they navigate the evolving business environment.
