ABSTRACT
In this presentation the author will describe some recurrent obstacles he has witnessed at both NELAP Accrediting Bodies and NELAP accredited laboratories that hinder the implementation of an effective and integrated quality management system. The presentation will layout common actions and best practices for both Accrediting Bodies and accredited laboratories to overcome these hurdles. With a planned for and committed effort both types of organizations should be able to develop and maintain a quality management system that allows the organization to meet its requirements, goals and enhance organizational performance.
