Steven Andersen
Steven Andersen is a national laboratory specialist and market leader at Mead & Hunt. A registered architect with NCARB accreditation and licensure in several states, Andersen brings 30 years of experience to the design and planning of complex facility environments.
Andersen has been recognized with two AIA design awards for his work, reflecting his commitment to achieving elegant, transformative solutions through the synthesis of art, science, and human need. He holds a Master’s degree with high honors from Virginia Tech and is a LEED BD+C professional.
In his current role, Andersen leads the laboratory planning process from initial visioning through commissioning, emphasizing a "science-first" methodology. He views technical problem-solving as an artistic endeavor, focusing on right-sizing infrastructure and creating simple, clear outcomes that meet the technical rigors of the science it houses.
