Richard Cochran
Richard Cochran is a Senior Application Scientist for LSMS at Thermo Fisher Scientific, with over 18 years of experience in mass spectrometry, with strong expertise in both targeted quantification, structure elucidation and non-targeted identification of unknowns. Richard received is PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Richard was a senior principal investigator within the Center for Aerosol Impacts on Chemistry of the Environment (CAICE, a National Science Foundation Center of Innovation) and served as the director of the Environmental and Complex Analysis Laboratory at the University of California San Diego. Throughout his career he has published more than 20 scientific publications in the area of mass spectrometry, altogether having more than 1,600 citations. Currently Richard is a subject matter expert in Thermo Fisher Scientist in the area of non-targeted analysis and structural elucidation (including PFAS and impurities analysis) and helps scientists around the world, across many industries and scientific disciplines, improve the global environment and our quality of life.
