Michael Link

Michael Link received his PhD in Chemistry from Colorado State University in 2020 specializing in measurements of organic compounds with real-time mass spectrometry. He spent several years as a postdoc performing research in the laboratory and field measuring yields from chemical reactions, air chemistry in indoor environments, and biosphere-atmosphere exchange of reactive gases above a forest. Since coming to NIST in 2022 he has published articles on the chemistry of air cleaners, wildland-urban interface fire smoke, and outdoor-to-indoor transport of criteria pollutants. He has served as a technical lead in the development of an ASTM standard for air cleaners and is currently the chair of an ASTM working group developing a standard for measurements of VOCs indoors using PTR-MS. He also contributes to ASHRAE standards development and technical committees.
