Manely Rashedan

Manely Rashedan is a Utility Microbiologist with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), Water Quality Division. She is a recognized subject matter expert in water quality molecular approaches, including algal toxin detection methodologies, as well as advanced biochemical and immunological method development.

Rashedan has pursued three university degrees across multiple scientific disciplines, including a graduate degree in Molecular Biology. Prior to joining LADWP, she was with the Environmental Monitoring Division at the City of Los Angeles LA SAN, and before that, she served as the Internal Manager of nanobiotechnology research institute, where she contributed to both research management and operational leadership for years. She has been widely recognized for providing technical and scientific support due to her extensive skill set across a broad range of biotechnology approaches, with outstanding expertise in molecular biology and antibody-based methodologies.

Her professional recognitions include multiple graduate research awards and scholarships, as well as presentations at national and international scientific conferences. Rashedan holds several EPA-recognized certifications, including a manager-level Water Quality Professional certification from the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Top Grade Water Quality Analyst certification. She is also an active contributor to technical workgroups within the professional community.
