ABSTRACT
Conservation detection dogs are transforming how we study the natural world by locating what was once considered nearly impossible to find. From wild bumblebee nests to other cryptic ecological targets, these highly trained dogs are helping scientists collect more accurate data using non-invasive methods.
In this keynote, I’ll share how detection dogs are expanding the boundaries of environmental monitoring while also creating powerful opportunities to engage the public. By combining rigorous science with real-world fieldwork, this approach not only fills critical data gaps but also helps strengthen public trust in scientific research.
