ABSTRACT

Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) and ammonia nitrogen are two of the most analyzed pollutants in the environmental lab. Each of these pollutants have numerous methods approved for wastewater reporting. Standard Methods 4500-Norg and 4500-NH3 are two of the oldest methods in the Standard Methods compendium. We are revising these methods to provide more up to date information and organize to better fit how the methods are used by the laboratories. This presentation covers the proposed revisions to these two methods.
