Amy Cuthbertson
Amy Cuthbertson is an analytical chemist specializing in mass spectrometry for environmental applications. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of South Carolina with Prof. Susan Richardson, discovering and quantifying drinking water disinfection byproducts by GC/MS. She completed postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley with Prof. David Sedlak on in situ remediation at Superfund sites (oxidation byproducts and their biomolecular interactions) and at NREL with Dr. Gregg Beckham on plastics deconstruction and quantitative analysis of complex mixtures. She later served as a Research Chemist at NIST (Charleston, SC) focusing on persistent organic pollutants, chemicals of emerging concern, plastic additives, and non-target analysis. She is now a GC/MS application scientist at Agilent with a focus on environmental markets.
