Agustin Pierri

Agustin Pierri is the president and technical director at Weck Laboratories, Inc., a leading environmental testing laboratory. He has a BS in Chemistry from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara. He joined Weck Laboratories in 2007 and has been developing and implementing innovative analytical methods using sophisticated technology for various environmental matrices. He has extensive experience in the detection and quantification of emerging contaminants such as PFAS, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and pesticides. He is also involved in the quality assurance and quality control of the laboratory operations and the technical support of the clients and staff. He has published several papers and presented at various conferences on the topics of environmental chemistry and LC-MS/MS applications. He is passionate about providing reliable and accurate data to help protect the environment and public health.
In addition to his role at Weck Laboratories, Agustin Pierri is also an active member of the Environmental Laboratory Technical Advisory Committee (ELTAC), an advisory body to the Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) of the State Water Resources Control Board. He serves as a scientific advisor for method development and validation, and provides constructive feedback to ELAP and the California regulatory agencies who use laboratory data to make decisions that affect environmental and public health. He is also a lecturer in the Chemistry department at the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, where he teaches courses on analytical chemistry and environmental chemistry. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with the students and inspiring them to pursue careers in the environmental field.
