ABSTRACT

Victoria Pretti, NYS Office of Cannabis Management and Steve Jetter, Oregon Health Authority

Almost every state is now regulating cannabis in some form or the other and these regulations involve testing for the active ingredient, THC, as well as other contaminants such as pesticide residues and mold. There have been numerous document issues in both selective sampling and inappropriate laboratory practices to falsely increase the THC content or show no contamination where contamination exists. The presentation will provide some background on cannabis testing, the inappropriate practices observed, and what two state regulatory agencies are doing to improve the reliability of the reported results.
