Ned Shappley
Ned Shappley is a Physical Scientist in EPA's Measurement Technology Group in the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards, located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Ned has a BS in biology from the University of Kentucky and over 20 years experience in air quality policy and measurements.
Ned started his career in private industry, spending his first 15 years as a stack tester, working his way up from field scientist to the venerable position of Quality Assurance Manager. In 2015, Ned left private sector and joined the EPA. Ned's work at the EPA is in method development of point-source and near-source measurments of air toxics and particulates matter, concentrating on the evaluation of next generation monitoring solutions.
Ned's recent focus on the development and evaluation of real-time ethylene oxide measurement options for regulatory compliance and ambient applications.
