Anna-Marie Cook
Anna-Marie Cook is a Principal Scientist and Engineer with Ocean P3 Systems, an Environmental Engineering firm focused on the study and analysis of ocean plastics and the development of ASTM standards for microplastics sample collection, preparation and analysis in water media. Cook's distinguished accomplishments include three decades as an engineer for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, serving as a scientist and engineer in roles with both EPA Region 9 in the Southwest United States and the EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD). Cook combines her extensive experiences in risk assessment and risk management while leading the cleanup of some of the nation’s largest, most complex and contaminated sites, with her research and standards development work related to the study of microplastics. Cook has a B.S. in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering and an M.S. in Hydrogeological Engineering from U.C. Berkeley. She recently departed EPA to found a public benefit corporation with fellow EPA alumnus to bring market-driven solutions to the global plastic waste pollution crisis.
