ABSTRACT
This presentation will outline a successful public/private partnership to create and deliver an educational symposium that addressed a knowledge gap in Legionella prevention. The symposium brought together administrators, facility management personnel, and infection control practitioners from skilled nursing facilities to learn how to develop and implement a water safety management plan to reduce Legionnaires’ disease risk. This presentation will describe how public health worked with private industry to identify the training needs, create the educational content, coordinate symposium logistics, and assess participants’ change in practice as a result of the symposium.
