Charles D. Fator is the Grandson of John D. Hanby the Founder and Inventor of the Hanby Environmental TPH Field Test Kits for the immediate detection and analysis of hydrocarbons in water and soil samples. Hanby Environmental TPH Field Test Kits have been manufactured and shipped the world over for the last 32 years. In high school, Charles helped around his Grandfather's laboratories so he has had exposure to the chemistry used in these kits almost from the beginning 32 years ago. He attended Sam Houston State University where he began studying environmental science. He then switched over to the business school where he graduated with a BA in Finance. After graduating from college, he spent the next 14 years as a very successful commercial banker where he was a Bank President of two commercial banking centers at the early age of 27 years old. It was during this time that he began to have the desire to own his own business and approached his Grandfather about joining his Environmental Company and acquired half of the company in 2012. Since that time, he has managed the operations of the existing business, while together they developed a new technology and device built upon the same chemical reaction utilized in Hanby Environmental's TPH Field Test Kits over the last 32 years. This new technology is Hanby Chemical Reaction Spectrophotometry and the device is The Hydrocarbon ID. Charles owns multiple patents related to this newly developed technology and device. Recently, Charles developed and launched a new mobile application to complement the Hanby Environmental Field Test Kits, increasing the level of accuracy of the results, by standardizing the optical, which also produces instantly shareable and stored documentation reports of the analysis and results using the camera on mobile phones. Upon the passing of his Grandfather in April of 2015, Charles succeeds his Grandfather carrying on his business and legacy as the President and CEO of Hanby Environmental and Hanby PetroAnalysis.
