Lisa Leombruni
LISA LEOMBRUNI, PHD is Program Manager of the Strategic Environmental Communication & Media program at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also lectures in strategic environmental communication and writing, and oversees several research projects exploring environmental campaigns and enhancing digital engagement with science media (funded by the TomKat Foundation and NSF). Previously, Lisa worked for NOVA/WGBH Boston, where she co-developed proposals for upcoming NOVA television series and special projects, including NSF-funded research. She also oversaw media evaluation and impact studies, conducted editorial research, and co-developed digital interactives. She has consulted for a variety of clients, including the United Nations, Oxfam America, the Center for American Progress, and Climate Nexus. She earned her PhD in communication from UCSB, holds a Master of Environmental Science from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, and has a BA in Biology from Brandeis University.
