Dale Walker
GCMS Applications Specialist
Dale Walker is a second generation scientist focusing on gas phase mass spectrometry; he followed in his father’s footsteps, who as a member of the Jet Propulsion laboratories placed the first Mass Spectrometer on Mars.
He attended school at Redstone Arsenal Alabama as a member of the U.S. Army and later he continued my education at Chaffey College.
Walker first entered this field in 1980 as a field Service Engineer with Finnigan Mat. After five years in the field, he moved to Sacramento California where he spent fifteen years as a Senior Scientist for Test America laboratories. While there, he developed several new techniques for environmental testing. These included developing the first work with tandem Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers for detecting PCB’s and Dioxins.
He held the position as the Western United States Manager for Agilent’s first alternate service provider, after leaving Los Gatos Circuits.
Walker had the opportunity to be one of the Mass Spec Specialist for Shimadzu Corp. While there, he covered all of the territory west of the Rocky Mountains.
Currently, he holds the position as a GCMS applications Specialist for Agilent Technologies. During the past five years, he has helped to improve the techniques for running SVOA, VOA, Pesticides and PCB compounds both on sing and MS/MS platforms. Walker has several publications available on the Agilent portal.
