Richard Stewart
Richard is the Managing Director and a co-founder of Ziltek Pty Ltd, based in South Australia. The company has commercialised a handheld infrared instrument for the rapid infield analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons in soil. Richard managed the independent verification of the instrument’s performance against laboratory data through Battelle in the USA.
Richard has spent more than 17 years in the waste remediation industry in a variety of product development and executive management roles. He holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide and postgraduate qualifications in technology commercialisation from the University of Texas, and has completed product innovation courses at the Harvard Business School. Richard was a member of the Australian Prime Ministers’ Science and Engineering Innovation Council (PMSEIC) working group on Biodiversity.
