ABSTRACT

The two most important factors in analytical laboratory operations are data quality and productivity. Innovations in technology have dramatically improved these two criteria by making the sample preparation techniques more effective and thus productive. Manual and automated methods of extract concentration are compared and evaluated in this study.

Regulated chlorinated pesticides are tested using EPA Method 508,1. Improvements in various quality control parameters, such as precision and accuracy, as well as detection limit validation, are being studied. Ease of operation and production capability are also compared.
