Michelle Kerr
Michelle Kerr works as a Chemist in US EPA's Region 5 Chicago Regional Laboratory. She has been on-staff with US EPA for five years, four of which were in the Superfund Division managing clean ups of National Priorities List hazardous waste sites. Her previous work experience also included research positions at her academic institutions; fellowships at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and EPA; a position in Wastewater Treatment Process research at the world’s largest wastewater treatment plant (Stickney Water Reclamation Plant); and several project-based consulting positions. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Roosevelt University and a Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Environmental Science and Geochemistry. She is a member of EPA’s Response Support Corps and has been commended for work as a Shoreline Cleanup and Assessment Team leader at an oil spill response of national significance, and also commended for leadership as Co-Chair of EPA’s National Engineering Forum.
