Dr. Claudia P.B. Martins has a Portuguese diploma in Biochemistry. During her undergraduate studies she had her first contact with mass spectrometry while working in a project concerning the development of a methodology for the analysis of ecstasy in hair samples. She has received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. During her doctoral studies she had the opportunity to work with different analytical instrumentation such as Ion Traps, Triple Quadrupoles, Time of Flight and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, publishing several papers using this technology. She has been with Thermo Fisher Scientific for several years, acting in various marketing and sales support roles assisting customers in method development for environmental and food analyses. Currently she is the Environmental and Food Safety Applications Program Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
