Daniel Askren
Dan Askren is the operations manager of EPA's RadNet air monitoring program at the National Analytical Radiation Environmental Laboratory in Montgomery, Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Beloit College (Wisconsin) and his Master's and Ph.D. in geology from the University of Georgia. He was a Professor of Geology at Georgia Southwestern State University until he came to EPA in 2006. In 2011 he was awarded the EPA's Gold Medal Award for his work during the Fukushima Nuclear Incident.
