ABSTRACT
Analyses of waters, and aqueous-based materials used and/or produced during unconventional drilling can pose challenging problems to the laboratory analyst, and the decision maker. In many cases the matrices are sufficiently different and vastly more complex compared to typical environmental samples that the analytical methods require modifications in order to yield meaningful data. This presentation will focus on method modification and quality issues associated with measurement of sample matrices encountered during E&P operations in shale gas.
