Richard Burrows

Although now happily retired, Dr. Burrows has over thirty-five years of experience in analytical chemistry in academic and commercial laboratories, of which 30 years have been in the environmental laboratory field. His work has involved bringing new perspectives to method detection limits, calibration, quality assurance, quality control, and method development.

He is currently a member of the Environmental Monitoring Committee, and actively working on further improvements to calibration standards. Dr. Burrows received the ACIL Preston Millar award in 2003 and 2006, and the Charlie Carter award in 2016. He received his BSc in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
