Tom has been the director of the Division of Environmental Assessment and
Restoration of the Florida DEP since 2013. The Division is responsible for setting
water quality standards, monitoring and assessing surface water quality,
establishing TMDLs and restoration plans known as Basin Management Action
Plans. The division also includes the department’s chemical and biological
laboratory.

Tom began his career as an environmental scientist more than 25 years ago
and has worked in both the private and government sectors specializing in
environmental data, quality assurance, ecological assessment, and waterbody
restoration.
