ABSTRACT

When chemicals or petroleum products are spilled or leak from underground storage tanks, they can give off gases or vapors that can get inside buildings. Pollutants that can cause vapor intrusion are gasoline or diesel fuel, dry cleaning solvents and industrial degreasers. The vapors can move through the soil and seep through cracks in basements, foundations, sewer lines and other openings. Vapor intrusion is a concern because vapors can build up to a point where the health of residents or workers in those buildings could be at risk. Some vapors
from petroleum products have a gasoline odor, others are odor‐free. For Vapor intrusion indoor Air Quality (IAQ), fence line and other monitoring situations – even in harsh environments — that require that you’re ready to perform monitoring when the time is right, SGS-Smart Sense, allows you to get the job done remotely from wherever you are in the world, when the time is right. SGS-Smart Sense, the only sampling initiation system available in the industry, tracks key parameters including VOCs, particle concentrations, O3, NO2, temperature, pressure and humidity and other contaminants with available sensors. It can remotely or automatically based on pre-set triggering concentrations, actuate switches that control sampling pumps, whole air solenoid valves and take samples via Summa can when needed not randomly or diluted using composite sampler.
